Foudation
of
Marguerite Bays
Further to Marguerite Bays's beatification le 29 octobrer
1993, numerous pilgrims emitted the wish to see the relics
Of Marguerite Bays. With the support of many persons and
institutions, This desire was able to be realized on July
2nd, 2000 by the inauguration of the new chapel created by
the artist
Jean-Jacques Hoffstetter.
A group of persons in the " Foundation Marguerite Bays » takes charge of all
these realizations and works.
Indeed, this ecclesiastical foundation was
established on April 18th, 1968 In front of the Solicitor Pascal Buchmann,
of Mister Abbot André Demierre, Priest of the
parish, Mister Joseph Joye,
Person in charge of the foundations, Reverend Mother
Madeleine Schoffit, Superior of St - Paul's , M.
Louis Magnin, Prefect of the Glâne, M. Louis Bays, Back-great-nephew
of Marguerite Bays and Sir Abbot Paul Dunant, Reverend
Chaplain to Billens.
The foundation aimed at
acquiring and at maintaining Marguerite Bays's paternel
house , to collect and to insure the respect for objects
having belonged to Marguerite Bays, as well as to promote
and facilitate any initiatives which can be taken for the
postulation of the cause of the beatification.
To
date, this Foundation remains very active and consists of
about ten members (see above) :
The realized and
current works are :
- Support of
the procedure in canonization.
- Liturgical
animations: a religious ceremony in the church
of Siviriez the 27 of every month and the
prayers at Marguerite Bays's paternel house.
- Works to
improve the reception and the information to the
pilgrims thanks to a collaboration with the
association of the tourism.
- Glâne Veveyse
is an agency in communication.
- Publication
of a new brochure of call and information.
- Creation of
a Web site and regular updates.
- Tagging of
a route " on the steps of Marguerite Bays" :
Eglise, La Pierraz, Our lady du Bois, la Fille-Dieu in Romont, etc.
- New edition
of the book of the Father Morel and the
translation in German and English.
- Translation
of the book of the Father Conus in German,
Italian and English.
- The future
works are:
- Creation of
a small museum and a small reception center for
the pilgrims.
